why, hello there

Back at it

So it’s the summer and I’m going back to the tumblr. I was thinking of starting a new one, but this is already here and I figured I shouldn’t waste a URL. This summer I’m working at the New York Observer. I start there June 7, but not before I trot over to Italy with my family for a short vacation. I’m an art history major who has never been to Florence. That needed to happen.

This summer I’m a lot more technologically connected than when I started this thing two summers ago. I use Twitter now. I have gmail. I’m obviously on Facebook (though I was back then too). I’m not totally sure how this outlet will be different. I don’t think it will get into really deep, sentimental stuff (shit, if you will), but hopefully I’ll actually write here and my posts will be more than 140 characters.

We leave for Italy today and I probably won’t have Internet access there, but I might post from my phone. I’m planning on finishing Elliot Allagash by Simon Rich on the plane ride over. I’m reading it on a Kindle The Kindle is my father’s doing, which I resist, but it is useful for trips where you won’t have access to a bookstore. The book is cute and plus (shameless self promotion here) I interviewed Simon this year for the YDN.

Well there you have it. Arrivederci for now!
